The foodies among us have been paying especially close attention to Bravo's Top Chef Masters this season, because our favorite chef, UNICEF Ambassador Marcus Samuelsson has been slicing and dicing for the UNICEF Tap Project.

This year's UNICEF Tap Project is proving to be an incredible success.

Celebrity chef Marcus Samuelsson has been a champion in our book for a long time.

On March 22 the world celebrated our most precious resource: water. Here at UNICEF USA we celebrated World Water Day with the UNICEF Tap Project, a week-long event where we asked restaurants around the United States to charge $1 for tap water, something that's normally free. All proceeds would go to UNICEF's water and sanitation programs.

World Water Week is drawing to a close, but you can still be involved all month, thanks to the initiatives of the generous corporations and agencies who are supporting the 2010 UNICEF Tap Project:

Water, water, everywhere. It’s on our minds, in the news, on our blog. It’s beneath the ground, in the soil and in aquifers … and it’s frozen in ice sheets and glaciers.

Last Saturday night, the D.C. Tap Project Team hosted our kick off of World Water Week. We must have had some good karma because the weather finally cooperated and helped us draw a great crowd.
